Elizabeth Valdez, Lead Organizer
TMO's led organizer, Elizabeth Valdez, has 30 years of organizing experience with the IAF. She has organized in the Rio Grande Valley, San Antonio, El Paso and now Houston. In both San Antonio and the Valley, Elizabeth spearheaded successful living wage campaigns as well as a successful effort to prevent contamination of the Edwards Aquifer in San Antonio. In the Rio Grande Valley she registered 25,000 voters and then, in partnership with other organizations of the Texas IAF, worked with state officials to pass landmark legislation preventing providing essential infrastructure to the colonias. On a recent sabbatical, Elizabeth studied at both Princeton University and the Princeton Theological Seminary.
