Join The Metropolitan Organization (TMO)  and the Texas IAF on Tuesday, March 21  from 10 am to 3:00 pm at the Texas Capitol in Austin for a day to meet with our legislators about issues affecting our families. We need many people from Houston and Southeast Texas to meet with our elected officials and key staff. 

We will talk with legislators about:

• Increase Texas funding for workforce development to $10 Million so more young adults complete their studies through Capital Idea—Houston and get a living wage job;
• Extend Medicaid coverage for new Moms from 2 months to 12 months after giving birth so that mother and child can remain healthy;
• Support Gun Safety Legislation that raises the age from 18 to 21 to purchase weapons and provides for more background checks and takes guns from domestic abusers;
• Stop giving away an unlimited amount of Texas public school funds to big corporations who claim they won’t build in Texas unless they get school taxes forgiven; corporate tax incentives should be limited and not taken from funds used to educate our children.
